Weekent in the Country

London is a  beauty, and still very much the place to be for me. But this year with the rain, the clouds, the long cold dark winter... Well, we all needed a break and some real country living.

So Abi and I packed up the car and road-tripped off over the bank holiday weekend to see her lovely folks in Kent!

Once there we were treated to local afternoon tea, true Brit style, at the gorgeous 'Where Memories Meet'. Everything in the store, from the chairs you sit on to the porcelain you drink from, is for sale too as a treat!

The lovely hosts even bought along a bag of #lactofree goodness so I had my own plate!

The next day we took a drive and ended up in a National Trust protected family home from the 14th century.

For some reason they were also auctioning off this red little thing in the 'back garden'.

The house itself was full of history, from 1320s to present day. From the British families to the American financier who saved it from being lost to time and the National Trust that hosts it to the public today. It was a fascinating stroll through time with fantastic surprises. Including a painting by Winston Churchill of that very house!

Handcrafted anyone?

After that our visit was starting to draw to an end so we headed back for some cuddles with Abi's kitty miss H. A beauty of 20 yrs and still on top of the world.

Now that's the kind of British spring we can work with ;).

xoxo
